Orientation Camp
It can sometimes be a difficult process to adjust to a new country and to meet new people, so we help you by organising fun and interesting orientation trips. The orientation camp has been set up for students who are applying directly to Macquarie University either as a Study Abroad or Exchange student, or students who are with a program that does not include their own orientation trip.
There are fantastic trips organised taking you to amazing places near Sydney for a weekend allowing you to meet other students starting at Macquarie University, as well as some of the Education Abroad Advisor who will help you during your stay at Macquarie University.
The first of the orientation camps, we head west of Sydney to the amazing Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves, Australia’s World Heritage listed national parks that holds some of the most beautiful sights in the country. We stay in comfortable accommodation and some cool activities like abseiling (rappelling), bushwalking and eat up the crisp mountain air. In the evenings, you will get a unique taste of Australian culture with the locals as we head up to the cafes in the main town of Katoomba. The other orientation camps includes a learn how to surf camps heading to the north and south of Sydney. Ideal locations for beginner surfers with smaller waves and beautiful scenery. These trips will offer you a chance to experience the other fantastic places Australia has to offer.
Eligible Exchange or Study Abroad students will be contacted by their student advisors at Macquarie International with an email about various social activities.
