It can sometimes be a difficult process to adjust to a new country and new people, so we save you a lot of grief. The Orientation Camp has been set up for those students who are applying directly to Macquarie to Study Abroad, or those students who aren’t with a Program that include their own orientation trip.
It’s an awesome trip where we go to one of the cool places near Sydney for a weekend so you get the chance to meet other students starting at Macquarie, as well as some of the study abroad advisors who will help you during your stay at Macquarie.
We head west of Sydney to the amazing Blue Mountains, one of Australia’s World Heritage listed national parks that holds some of the most beautiful sights in the country. We stay in comfortable accommodation and some cool activities like abseiling (rappelling), bushwalking and eat up the crisp mountain air. In the evenings, you’ll get a unique taste of Australian culture with the locals as we head up to the cafes in the main town of Katoomba.
An infosheet about the next orientation camp is available here (PDF ~ 122kb) and we strongly recommend the trip for anyone who wants to go.
