The Department of Environment and Geography currently offers three unique postgraduate programs via distance mode.

Program Descriptions
The Wildlife Management course has a strong disciplinary and practical focus, consisting of boh coursework and fieldwork components. It aims to provide students with sound knowledge base in individual disciplines as well as real world application skilld, and an understanding of the multi-disciplinary approach required in the management of living resources.
The Museum Studies program provides a background relevant to contemporary museums, galleries and collections. management of information will increasingly form a vital part of the workplace and this rogram provides essential grounding in generic information management skills.
Macquarie University's postgraduate programs in Social Impact Assessment provide Australia's first specialist tertiary qualification in this important and rapidly expanding field.The program develops a deep understandingof professional practice, legal requirements, methodological choices and theoretical issues in Social Impact Assessment in multiple contexts.
Resources and Support for Distance Students
There is a high level of support for distance students. Academic staff are available by email, fax, and telephone. The School’s Student Services staff are devoted to dealing with administrative and practical need of distance students, and students have access to a wide range of resources.
Graduating students are welcome to attend their graduation ceremony in Sydney. For students who cannot attend,degrees are conferred at the ceremony in absentia. Degrees and transcripts are sent to students by registered mail.
