Environmental Law - Distance Programs

Macquarie Law School’s Centre for International and Environmental Law was one of Australia’s first centres to specialise in environmental law. The Centre’s research and teaching is enhanced by its members enjoying a wide range of experience in legal practice and academic expertise in environmental law and related areas.

The Centre currently offers following postgraduate programs via distance modes:

Program Descriptions

These programs are designed to enhance legal knowledge, equipping our graduates with the skills and capabilities for further their careers in both law and law related field. Note that the Master of Law is only available to law graduates, while other programs are open to graduates from a variety of backgrounds.

Resources and Support for Distance Students

There is a high level of support for distance students. Academic staff are available by email, fax, and telephone. The Centre’s Student Services staff are devoted to dealing with administrative and practical need of distance students, and students have access to a wide range of resources.  Students enrol in these programs are required to attend short intensive teaching sessions on campus each semester.

Graduating students are welcome to attend their graduation ceremony in Sydney. The status of degrees awarded to students who study by distance is equal to those awarded to students who study on-campus. For students who cannot attend, degrees are conferred at the ceremony in absentia.
