CHILE

  • Chilean Bicentennial Fund Scholarships

    In July 2008, Universities Australia and the Government of the Republic of Chile established the "Chile-Australia Agreement on Human Capital Development". The agreement supports up to 500 fully funded Chilean PhD and Masters students each year to study in Australian universities over the next five to ten years.

    This program is aimed to improve Chile’s global competitiveness by strengthening its human capital development and improving the scope and quality of education, scientific & technological research and innovation.

    Eligibility:

    The Chile Bicentennial Research Scholarships is available to Chilean students only.

    Under the Bicentennial Fund, the Government of Chile will:

    • meet the cost of living expenses for scholarship holders, while they are enrolled in Australia
    • fund university tuition and fees for scholarship holders not granted funding from Australian universities
    • provide a roundtrip air ticket (economy class) from Chile to Australia for each scholarship holder
    • fund English language training courses in Chile for scholarship holders who do not meet the language entrance requirements
    • provide up to six months allowance for living expenses for scholarship holders who require full-time English language study
    • cover additional expenses of the scholarship holders and/or their dependents that the Chilean government might deem necessary

    In addition to applying for the BECAS Scholarship, applicants interested in applying to a higher degree research program at Macquarie University need to complete a candidature/scholarship application form and arrange for two academic referee reports to be submitted to the Higher Degree Research Office. COLOMBIA

  • COLFUTURO

    The Fundación para el Futuro de Colombia (COLFUTURO) and Macquarie University offer Joint Scholarships to Colombian students to undertake postgraduate coursework programs offered by Macquarie University. Priority will be given to the following areas:

    • Engineering and Technology
    • Social Sciences
    • Humanities
    • Human Sciences
    • Natural Sciences

    However students admitted to other graduate programs such as Business will also be considered.

    Macquarie University will provide two (2) scholarships of 50% of the tuition fees for Master by coursework degrees. In addition, Macquarie University will provide a scholarship of 10% to all other eligible COLFUTURO recommended students.

    Macquarie University will offer this financial support for the normal duration of the degree. Master students for a period of 1 year, or 1.5 years depending on the degree.

    Students admitted to graduate degree programs offered by Macquarie University will submit a Loan-Scholarship application to COLFUTURO, following the normal application procedures and meeting all the standard requirements established by COLFUTURO.     In addition, students must complete Macquarie's scholarship application process:

    1. Colombian candidates must apply to the program of interest by the application deadline of April 30.
      It is highly recommended that candidates commence their application by the end of March at the latest to ensure that candidates receive an Offer Letter from Macquarie University for their program of study before April 30. The application process can be found at:

      Once the course application has been processed, candidates will receive a Macquarie University Student Number which is compulsory to submit the online MUIS application form.

    2. Candidates must apply to the scholarship by completing the online scholarship application at:

      Important: In Step 1 - Type of Scholarship, students must select "Other" and write COLFUTURO.

ECUADOR

MEXICO

  • SEP

    The Ministry of Public Education - Secretaria de Educacion Publica (SEP) and Macquarie University offer Joint Scholarships to Mexican students to undertake postgraduate coursework studies at Macquarie University. Opportunities are also available to Mexican PhD students to conduct research at Macquarie for up to 6 months.

    For postgraduate coursework students, all one year Macquarie postgraduate degrees are available except those in the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) and the Applied Finance Centre (AFC). Priority will be give to the following areas:

    • Education
    • Psychology
    • Linguistics
    • Biotechnology
    • Environmental studies
    • Development Studies and Cultural Change

    For PhD students, all Macquarie areas are available but priority will be given to topics within the Macquarie research group of Social Inclusion (migration, gender, etc). More information is available at: www.crsi.mq.edu.au/research/research_clusters.htm

    Macquarie University sponsors the tuition fee and the Ministry of Public Education supports students with a monthly stipend for living expenses and the cost of a return economy airfare to Sydney.

    In addition, students must complete Macquarie's scholarship application process:

  • FIDERH

    Banco de México-FIDERH and Macquarie University offer Joint Scholarships to Mexican students to undertake postgraduate coursework studies at Macquarie University.

    Macquarie University will provide six (6) students at 20% of fees payable for postgraduate coursework programs.

    Application Process
    • Candidates must apply to their program of interest at Macquarie University:
      www.international.mq.edu.au/study/postgraduate
    • Candidates interested in obtaining a FIDERH loan must hold a FULL OFFER for the course they have applied at Macquarie University.
    • Candidates must apply with FIDERH at any of the three reception periods of the year (February, May, August).

    • Macquarie University will confirm with FIDERH the successful candidates within ten (10) working days of receiving the shortlisted candidates.
  • FUNED

    FUNED - Fundacion Mexicana para la Education, la Tecnologia y la Ciencia, AC. and Macquarie University offers a Joint Scholarship for a Mexican student to study a postgraduate coursework program at Macquarie University in the area of Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, Law, International Trade, International Relations, Media and Political Science.

    Macquarie provides one 50% tuition fee waiver to a scholar who is selected under the Macquarie/FUNED scholarship agreement to cover a postgraduate coursework degree of up to one year duration. FUNED provides a "credit-scholarship" of up to 40% of the total cost of the postgraduate coursework degree (university tuition fees and living expenses).     Application Process
    1. Mexican candidates must apply to the program of interest by 15 August for semester 1 commencement and by 15 February for semester 2 commencement.

    3. Simultaneously, candidates must apply to the scholarship by completing the online scholarship application at: https://www.international.mq.edu.au/scholarships/applications/scholarshipapplication.aspx

    4. Candidates that receive an unconditional full offer from Macquarie University as a result of the first step must then follow FUNED’s approval process.

SINGAPORE

  • SINGAPORE GENERAL HOSPITAL

    Singapore General Hospital offers mid-term and full-term scholarship/educational sponsorships to students pursuing or about to embark on the Masters in Clinical Audiology programme offered by Macquarie University.

    You will be part of a dynamic team of multi-disciplinary professionals in providing holistic care to patients with hearing disorders and families. You will perform comprehensive audiological assessments and provide aural (re)habilitation for both adults and children with hearing impairment. You will conduct audiology-related scientific research and participate in training and education with a team of professionals. You will recommend appropriate hearing technologies to individuals with hearing impairment and carry out clinical administrative work.

    Tenure of Awards

    The scholarship will be tenable for up to 2 years in a university in Australia.

    Conditions of Award

    Upon graduation, the candidate will be appointed to work in SGH as an Audiologist for a period of 4 years.

THAILAND

    Nakhon Ratchsima Rajabhat University (NRRU) in Thailand which currently offers two undergraduate and one postgraduate scholarship under its NRRU International Scholarship Scheme. VIETNAM

    The Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam (MOET) through its Vietnam International Education Development (VIED) office and Macquarie University offer a Joint Scholarship program for Vietnamese students to study a Master by Coursework degree at Macquarie University in any area of study (excluding Applied Finance and Business Administration programs).

    Macquarie will provide up to ten 50% tuition fee scholarships in 2012, and VIED will provide the remainder of the tuition fee as well as living allowance.

    Application Process
    1. Students must apply for admission to the Master degree at Macquarie University by 30 April. The application process can be found at: www.international.mq.edu.au/study/postgraduate
    2. Once candidates have received an offer from the University they must apply for the Macquarie University International Scholarship (MUIS) using the online application at: https://www.international.mq.edu.au/scholarships/applications/scholarshipapplication.aspx
