Scholarships

Cotutelle MQRES (Macquarie Research Excellence Scholarships)

For eligible cotutelle or joint PhD candidates, a cotutelle or joint PhD MQRES may be awarded. This includes the standard entitlements of MQRES and additional travel funds between the two cities where the two universities are located.

Australian domestic (citizen or permanent resident) PhD candidates going to Priority 1 or 2 partner universities will receive a cotutelle MQRES allocation automatically if they are:
•    Current MQRES, APA or equivalent award holders, or
•    Candidates in CORE research areas

If the proposed universities are not in the Priority 1 or 2 university lists, a case will need to be made based on the research excellence of the overseas partner and an ongoing HDR partnership for Macquarie.

Recipients of other government scholarship, for example E-IPRS (Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (E-IPRS) or CSC (China Scholarship Council), who are interested in cotutelle or joint PhD programs, will receive top-up scholarships from Macquarie University to match the entitlements of cotutelle MQRES.
