Postgraduate Research

In Australia, students enrolled in PhD and MPhil degrees are often referred to as Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates. Macquarie University offers HDR degrees in a wide range of research areas. Applications to these degrees are handled by the Higher Degree Research Office. We also actively promote cotutelle and joint PhD enrolment. Through these programs, candidates are able to enrol and spend equal time at each university, submitting one thesis to two universities for joint recognition.
