Why did you choose Australia?

I chose Australia because it is something new, the weather's good and the people here are so friendly it's unbelievable. If you're sitting by yourself people will come and talk to you - they don't have to know you.

Why did you choose Biotechnology at Macquarie?

The career options are flexible with a Biotechnology degree. It is a Bachelor of Science, so it provides you with a good foundation and you can specialise later. Macquarie has its own Research Park, so there's an opportunity to help out PhD students as well.

What do you think of the course?

I expected the course to be interesting, but not this interesting. It's challenging and very hands on. In the lab we use real sea creatures and invertebrates. You have a sample of mud and things are literally jumping off the table!

What do you think of life in Australia?

I really enjoy it here. Australia is an amalgam of all cultures - it has the best of everyone else's culture... All the international students at Macquarie make it very interesting too.
