Tell us about your time at Macquarie.

The greatest thing about being here has been meeting people from all over the world. I never really knew I was the sort of person who enjoyed learning about different cultures. I've learnt that about myself.

The thing I like is that although people are busy, when you meet them they smile at you. That is the spirit around the place.

Have you changed during your time in Australia?

At home, I could rely on the support of my family for day-to-day life. But in Australia I have learnt independence. It took a little while to get used to being here on my own, but I have got to the point where I prefer being independent.

Any advice for new students?

Have fun while you're here, and make lots of friends – break the cultural barriers... and don't forget your studies.
