Why Macquarie?

After searching online, Macquarie seemed to be the most suitable university for me. Also, easy access is important for international students, and Macquarie had really helpful staff, a beautiful web page and the information was easy to find.

Tell us about your time at Macquarie.

My time in Australia has been fantastic. I like the different perspectives you get when you study in a different environment. I have had no trouble with cultural differences. Aussies are very nice, very warm and helpful. Macquarie is a very modern university. Academically, it is quite challenging, with new, up to date information. I studied some of these topics in China, but at Macquarie I have got whole new perspectives. In China there was not as much research or use of case studies – here it is very practical.

Why did you continue at Macquarie for a second degree?

When I finished my first degree, many of my classmates returned to China to make money, because an Australian degree can get you a good job. But I wanted to stay because I enjoyed the lifestyle. I also want to improve my English. There are many foreign companies in China but a (shortage) of people that are fluent in English.

Any advice for new students?

Just relax and enjoy the different culture and life in a new country!
