Colloquium Series

"We must become the change we want to see." - Mahatma Gandhi

Tackle issues ranging from cross cultural understanding to counter terrorism in the GLP Colloquium Series. Participating in 'colloquia' (meaning workshops, seminars, round tables or discussions) will introduce you to a range of international issues and provide you with a set of generic skills you can use in your professional life.

Hear interesting presentations of the topic, participate in discussion and debate on the issues raised by the Convenor, take part in group activities, and undertake individual reflection of how the colloquium topic relates to you. Each colloquium will typically last 2-3 hours.

Students must participate in 10 colloquia to fulfill the requirements of the GLP. There are 3 compulsory colloquia that all students must attend and which count towards the total of 10.

The 3 core colloquia which all students must attend are:

 GL C01  Cross Cultural Understanding
 GL C02 Leadership
GL C03  Beyond Borders: the responsibilities of a global citizen

Students must participate in 7 elective colloquia over the course of their enrolment in the GLP. You might like to choose colloquia that complement your area of study, or perhaps you are interested in learning about issues not covered in your degree. You should design your own program of 7 elective colloquia based on your interests and skill gaps.
