Postgraduate Information Night for business courses

The Division of Economics and Financial Studies (EFS) will be hosting a Postgraduate Information Night on Wednesday, May 16.

The night is an opportunity for prospective students to speak to the Dean, Academic Directors and lecturers about the various EFS postgraduate coursework programs.

The evening will begin with welcome drinks and introductions from the Dean and Academic Directors.

Then teaching staff will answer questions about program content including range of elective units and international perspectives; internships and international exchange opportunities.

Students are turning towards Master degrees to make themselves more marketable to potential employers, while those already in employment are returning to university to give themselves an extra edge.

Accounting and other fields of business management and commerce are the biggest growth areas, followed by information technology and economics.

Macquarie lecturers are very happy to answer any questions you may have

The Postgraduate Information Night is a chance for you to ask lecturers about program content, interships and international exchange opportunities

"It's about where you want to be tomorrow, and a postgraduate qualification is often the mark of a professional, and differentiates you from the crowd. It's a good investment," says Dean, Professor Ed Davis, AM.

Postgraduate programs offered by the Division include single or double degrees in accounting, actuarial studies, applied finance, economics, finance, international business, information systems and technology, marketing and statistics.

With over 11,000 students, coming from 69 countries the Division is the largest and most culturally diverse at Macquarie.

There are also dynamic degrees in entrepreneurship offered by the Macquarie Institute for Innovation. This year has seen the launch of the Postgraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and the Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship, with a Masters program planned for 2008.

The evening will begin at 6pm Wednesday, May 16 at the Applied Finance Centre City Campus, 10 Spring St Sydney (level 3), behind Australia Square. To register, please click here.
