This trip has definitely given me an advantage, academically and professionally. Students accepted into the short term exchange program will follow the approximate timeline below:
Information about the programs released online
Student applies by the relevant deadline
Student pays the Short Term Program Application Fee
Student Exchange Committee sits to consider and approve students to participate in programs
Students emailed the results of their applications
Students attend program-specific information sessions – completing application forms for the host institution and submitting any other required documentation
Applications for programs sent to the partner university – await official acceptance letter from host, plus any other documentation (sometimes visa documentation)
Students arrange their visa if required
Enrolment forms sent to students – students in some programs may be required to seek approvals for this (you will be advised and Macquarie Abroad will provide more information on this process after you are accepted to participate in the course)
Purchase mandatory travel insurance, flights etc
Attend mandatory pre-departure session
Students enrolled in relevant unit at Macquarie by Macquarie Abroad, enrolment and payment advice sent to students
Students leave to commence their overseas program
Students return – welcome back function, plenty of chances to get involved with inbound exchange students
