Application process
The internship placement process involves the following steps:
- Submit your application via email
Submit your application form, cover letter and resume (See Apply Now section for guidelines). - Meet with internship staff (via Skype or in-person)
Attend an informal meeting with the internship staff to discuss the type of placement you are looking for, and sign the internship agreement. This is your chance to demonstrate your study background, skills and interests with the internship staff so they can identify internship projects that may suit you.
Action to arrange your placement will only commence after you have attended this meeting. - Students will be emailed a range of possible internship projects
Students are required to research each organsiation and reply to their Internship Advisor with their listed preferences - Student's resume will be sent to a prospective employer
- Attend a host organisation interview
If the host organisation is interested in the applicant, a formal interview at the host organisation will be arranged - Enrol in the unit and begin your internship
If you are successful in securing a placement, you enrol in the internship unit and begin your internship.

Internship enrolment
Only once a student has been placed in an internship role will they be enrolled in the internship unit. Macquarie University has strict enrolment deadlines, therefore it is essential that all applicants are responsive to communication from the internship office throughout the entire application process.
