1. Airport reception
You can book for a representative from Macquarie’s Accommodation Service to pick you up from either the Sydney International or Domestic Airport and take you to your pre-arranged accommodation. This is a free service that is available to all international full-degree students who book at least seven days in advance.

2. Accommodation
Macquarie University has a dedicated Accommodation Service for international students that can give you information on your accommodation options, including temporary accommodation, university accommodation and private accommodation. We want to help you find the most suitable accommodation for your specific budget and lifestyle needs.
Accommodation choices range from temporary to long-term accommodation and include on-campus residences, as well as off-campus options.
To help you settle into your new life at Macquarie as quickly and smoothly as possible, our Accommodation
Service provides assistance with on-campus options, rental searches, property inspections, location choices, furniture requirements and tenancy issues.

3. Predeparture information
Visit our Predeparture website for information on preparing for your arrival at Macquarie University.
4. Orientation and enrolment
You should arrive one week before your classes commence to allow for time to adjust and adapt to your new environment. During this week you must attend the COMPULSORY Orientation and Enrolment Session.
ORIENTATION
Orientation week is organised by the International Student Services (ISS) Team. The ISS team will provide information relating to:
- Student visa
- Tips to help you adjust to life in Australia
- General information relating to various services on campus
- Enrolment information
You only need to attend one orientation session. However the week is packed full of fun activities, welcome barbeques, campus tours and special interest sessions.

ENROLMENT
Undergraduate
If enrolling in an undergraduate program you will be required to enrol on campus.
Postgraduate
For many Postgraduate programs, you can enrol yourself online, but some programs require compulsory on-campus academic advising prior to enrolling. To check if your program requires on-campus advising visit the Orientation website.
ACADEMIC ORIENTATION
The Macquarie University Transition Program provides information and assistance to new students relating to academic matters. We highly recommend that you attend the transition program. For further information visit the Transition Program website.
LATE ARRIVAL
If you're unable to arrive on time due to unavoidable circumstances, you MUST seek permission to enrol late from your Admission Officer who issued your offer letter (refer to the contact details on your Offer Letter).
STUDENT CARD
Your student card will be provided to you once you have enrolled in your program. Detailed student card information will be explained to you during the Orientation Session.
Information stalls and Buddies (student volunteers) are located around the campus to help you during Orientation and Enrolment week!
